Camp Golden Gate is an international American summer camp for teenagers aged 10 -18. In itself The Camp’s entrepreneurial approach is crafted to stimulate teens to improve their social, capacity building, and intellectual skills that will allow them to have a better understanding of the career sector they want to find a job in. The learning curriculum is 3 hours per day, 5 days per week. The courses were carefully drafted to add value to different aspects of the culture of entrepreneurship. There will be 6 different courses available: Start a Startup/Digital Marketing, Journalism, Drama, Art, Creative Writing and Nutrition. For example, the participants at the Start a Startup/Digital Marketing will learn what are the characteristics and philosophies of a start-up, the pros and cons of running a startup, how to define a “business model,” prototyping and business development, architecting a product, how simple models such as demand and supply are key for understanding market behaviors. Participants taking Journalism will learn how to polish a piece of writing in an attractive, inviting manner and how to put in writing complex business ideas in simple sentences so they are more commercial and easy for investors and firms to understand. Participants taking the Drama course will gain more confidence and will improve their public speaking skills. Participants taking Art will be challenged to think outside the box, to see and feel things around them with a different set of eyes, and to push their intellect to think in a creative way. Participants taking Creative Writing will be able to demonstrate originality, clarity of expression, and will have the ability to understand and express ideas in writing. And finally, participants taking nutrition will learn how to maintain a healthy life that embraces quality of life by creating a balance between work and personal life. Each participant is given the freedom to choose the courses they want. We believe in giving the participants the freedom of choice. We believe that learning should be organic and fun.
All our courses will be taught by American teachers using interactive learning methodology. Interactive learning is a more hands-on, real-world process of relaying information in learning and non-learning specific settings. With interactive learning, students are invited to participate in the conversation, through technology, role-playing, or group exercises in class.
