The Farmer’s Market of Varna presents a Local Food Festival with handmade gourmet offerings – samples&sales; workshops and related cultural events, with a focus on young people in their role of present and future producers and consumers.
The Local Handmade Food Festival will will feature young and young-at-heart generation of local food producers. Each festival day will be dedicated to a specific gourmet idea, tailored to the taste and consumption habits of young urban people: Slow Food Day, Green Food Day, “Save local food – Save Nature” etc. Each day will feature:
• different types of food
• special social event – a thematic workshop
• challenge for the visitors to recognize the positive ecological and social impact of choosing to consume local foods
Farmers’ Market will organize a contest among volunteers – young people, students, amateurs or professionals. Each participant will record a video, do a picture gallery or write a blog so as to present in their own way and promote the culture of local food and the idea of responsible consumer choices. The winner(s) content will be the official digital content that will advertise the mission of Varna’s Farmers‘market.
To promote the active participation of young people in the culture of local foods -- in terms of production, consumption, and advertising.
