A youth team of professional folklore musicians, in the scope of the initiative Varna – EYC – 2017, twice a week presents and motivates young people to play, sing and dance, and rediscover themselves through folklore.
Organized, directed and held by youth for the youth, in the most natural environment, as a response to the growing need for rebirth of community centers of the traditional Bulgarian folk instruments – kaval, gayda, gadulka, tambura and tapan. Young folk talants from Varna will visit, meet and teach music instrumental arts to any interested young people in and out of the city. The sessions will be held from July to November, twice a week, in the buildings of the community center partners. Two concerts will take place, during the active tourist season in Varna, one in St. St. Kiril and Metodii – 1927 in July, and one in the Summer theater or the Rome baths in August. These concerts will be the culminant accents of the project which will demonstrate its social contribution and help promote the cultural profile of Varna as a EYC – 2017.
